Some of the things that brought me back to the album was mainly the synth tones of the entire album. Not only do they sound galactic, they were also enveloping somewhat hypnotizing. Second, I would point out that before picking out details I was making parallels from video games. Tracks like Holdin On and Jaded reminded me of tracks from We Love Katamari. Specifically the second half of Angel Rain for the former and Disco Prince for the latter. But I also got hints of Earthbound from Molecules which reminds me the menu of starting a new file or Hourglass that feels somewhat Moonside inspired. There are also other games like the first two Super Monkey Ball games or Kirby 64 that I was making visual cues. But I could also refer to how the album to me makes me see stuff that could be a reality 2 centuries later. But we be long gone when that occurs. But I would say the main takeaway of why I loved the album so much was due to how Disclosure was one of the few acts that stopped what I was doing and ended up being intrigued for there craft. Hell I remember when I first heard of them. But I get to that in a bit.

Yeah - I've experienced that with Vinyl. Certain things just pop better. I'll have to mess with my equalizer a bit and give it another listen before moving on from it for a bit. It's really bass/vocal heavy on the mix, and some really cool stuff I pick up, but it is so faint. For this game I probably won't get 50 listens in, but your love for the album intrigues me to get more out of it than I have so far. I dig a lot of aspects of it, but I can't tell if I'm assessing it fairly. I suppose another way to ask the question is to ask what brought you to want to listen to it 50 times - just chance/life circumstance or something kept pulling you back in for more (and if so, what?)

Luigii - question for you on Caracal. I find the low end mixed way to heavy to the point that it drowns out any intricacies on the high end and mid-range. It's a struggle to pick it out of the mix. I've listened to it in the car, headphones, and on two different stereos. Do you change your equalizer or anything? Asking because you pick up intricacies on the album I want to hear, but I'm finding I'm likely missing them, lessening the experience for me. When I do hear them, I think they are cool. But the mix is very much vocals and drum and bass and everything else seems to sink so far back in the mix it feels like it is barely there.

Also I think Bobby and I are the only ones who have submitted for the final round. I'll give it another two weeks if there are discussions on the albums in the semi-finalist round. If not I'll close it up. Still really bummed my write-ups got lost and am lacking the motivation to write them again.

I will say Stockhausen is a bit uncharacteristic of my music taste 9 times out of 10. The difference is I feel the medium he used and the concepts he messed with really took it to another level. Somehow experimental music seems more fitting in an electronic setting more than any other instrumentation (that's my take) - because it's a whole new thing... atonal music with vocals or strings... somehow I just sit there the whole time and think your playing it poorly instead of just enjoying the constructs. Electronic music somehow doesn't have those constructs to me, and so I really do think I'm out in outer space or experiencing AI sonically or simply how machines communicate. Idk - it opened me up to a whole new world and I really enjoyed it.
