Firs album - "Story of the Who" 1976
First single - Thankfully was a David Bowie one, unfortunately it was "Laughing gnome" in 1973. In my defence I was only 9.

Close, it was like $35 plus tax... those fuckers! Everywhere else I've been it is at least $10-15.
They took advantage of my inexperience as a purchaser of vinyl!

Downtown Toronto is kinda ridiculous with its ungodly number of record stores (fueled by its UNGODLY amount of hipsters). My favourite record store is right next to another record store. There is also one across from it, not too far, and about another three on the same strip.

The first album I bought with my own money - Hmm... either The Eminem Show by Eminem or Billy Talent's self-titled album. I recall being 11 and having an HMV card and being very excited about that.

i'm always a little embarrassed when i tell people the first album (vinyl) i bought was Like A Virgin. although it is a classic 80's pop album and the best one she ever made

I bought my first album in 1977.I purchased Best Of Styx & some rolling papers.It was an O.K. album.It had songs from the first 4 Styx albums they made for Wooden Nickel records.So unfortunately it only contained songs from their pre-Equinox era.The cool thing about the album was that it was made out of blue vinyl.Wish that I still had it.

I was given the Space Jam OST as a birthday present, but the first albums I spent money on were Jay-Z's 'The Blueprint', Shaggy's 'Hot Shot' and Linkin Park's 'Hybrid Theory', all bought on the same day. Needless to say, I only ever listen to one of them anymore (and it's not Shaggy or Linkin Park).

My first ever album was Belinda Carlisle's Runaway Horses. It included the hit La Luna. I believe it must have been the summer of 1990 and I was almost 10 years old.

I always had music going on around me when I was young, but the first album I remember loving and listening to was "Californication" by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty's anthology, when I was 2 or 3. First album I ever bought was Weird Al Yankovic's Greatest Hits Vol. 2, but the first real good album I ever bought was Weezer's "Blue Album". First rap album (this is a big deal, because my parents aren't big fans of rap, to put it nicely) was Kanye West's "Graduation".
