I wish they would release the sessions for the aborted adult/child album. I think they must be great from the bits and pieces that have emerged.

I had a bootleg of Smile but have never heard the official Smile Sessions. But yeah, you could definitely just go with the sequence on the solo version.

Yeah, I'm not sure if a definite beach boys version of surf's up exists. The one from the Brian's solo Smile is a good call tbh as it mixes the best of the available beach boys' versions.

I think the smile sessions are cool, but it really isn't a "finished" album, so I go for the finalized Smile by Brian Wilson.

I just listen to Brian's solo version, but if you want the Boys vocals on it, I suppose you could just emulate the tracklisting of that album. The flow on it is superb!

That's provided that all the tracks on that album are available in the sessions, of course

I haven't, but for decades the only way to listen to Smile was on bootlegs, which have different track listings depending on their source. I haven't heard any of the bootlegs, because my serious interest in music didn't start before The Smile Sessions came out. A couple of my RYM friends like this one though:

Your Track Listing For The Beach Boys' 'Smile Sessions'?

I am now going to make a conscious effort to really try and dig this album, however it seems the track listing as it is seems fractured and bit-part.

I was wondering if anyone on here had devised a track listing of the Smile Sessions to ensure these cuts can work as a flowing LP?

Thanks BEA!
