Got it, yes this is what I was asking! Was genuinely wondering what the comment meant.

@Fischman - That's awesome! (Yeah, I guess bed bugs aren't the most appealing...it was more to express that the album overall is not at all sad.)

this -- but i also didn't really feel the vocals accompanied the instrumentation all that well whereas if someone with a deeper, more miserable toned voice would've increased my enjoyment a bit more

Which is fine on it's own; there are plenty of slowcore songs I like that are built in the same way. But when it finally starts to build, I don't think it gets intense enough to justify the length of the song. It mostly just continues at the same pace and switches to him repeating the title of the song. Another thing I like about a lot of slowcore - which to be clear I don't think I consider this slowcore, but it's built in much the same way as a slowcore song - is the way the drums echo and give the song more depth. You'll hear this in a lot of Low and Red House Painter songs. There are no drums in the first half of this song which leaves just the guitar and piano, which sound a little flat to me. There's not a whole of dynamics in the production in general.

Good call. I did take to the rest of the all much better. What's more, he bring a good bit of variety from song to song. It really held my interest. Thanks for the extra nudge.
