Oh, that Malkmus song is very charming, the sort of mildly countrified indie ramble that he does very well, and I've voted for it in every round thus far. That said, it doesn't touch his best work, neither with nor post-Pavement, and feels slight compared to 'Roaches', but I do understand why this match is close, even if the decision was easy for me. Maxo's guilt-ridden, hyper-specific narrative, and the mechanical, symmetrical nature of his flow, are just a cut above, as far as I'm concerned, while the beat's hazy, can't-put-my-finger-on-it nostalgic loop just gets more likeable, and more poignant, every time. It's just a pity it doesn't qualify as a "song".

The Malkmus track is fine enough but it seems like it kind of skated by against weaker competition the past couple rounds, but it's no match for the devastating brilliance of "Roaches". Going Maxo-Millian here.
