The reason for the low scores is that it's only January, and the points awarded in a 'year' chart receive more points as the year progresses (e.g a year chart for the current year is worth more points if it's updated in August than January as the pool of albums to pick from becomes much bigger and the chart reflects more of the output of the current year). As the maximum points for a year chart is only five, a top album in a chart updated on 30th January is worth approx 0.4 points = 5 points x (30 days/366) (or 365 for non leap years). Albums from the current year appearing in 'overall' charts aren't awarded any points (this closes a back-door which could otherwise be used to game the system).

I just noticed that the rank scores for all 2020 albums are extremely low. It appears that when a 2020 album is ranked in a chart, it always get a rank score of 0 for that chart position, no matter where it's ranked in that chart. Somehow, the albums still get a low single digit rank score (usually higher than 0) after adding up all of the 0 point scores. For example the #1 album of 2020 so far, Mac Miller's Circles, has a total rank score of 8, despite the fact that it appears in 31 charts, it's rated #1 in roughly half of those charts, and it even appears in some "Greatest Music Albums" charts. Every other album of 2020 has a rank score of 3 or lower. This does not happen with albums released in other years.

Can this be fixed? I know you guys have lots to do and you do an amazing job! I really appreciate it! Just thought this needed to be addressed. Thanks so much!
