Im really glad it came out as Album of the Day! Slanted and Enchanted is one of my favorite albums. I still can't decide between it and Crooked Rain.

My favorite song must be Trigger Cut. I also dig Summer Babe, Zurich is Stained, In the Mouth a Desert, Perfume-V...

Coming Back To-Day...

Whoaah! You like Pavement? You surprise me sometimes, Gary. I would think they would be the type of band you would hate.

My outlook on newer and or different genres of music has changed a bit in the last 9 months.

I was in my cave listening to the White album for the 1,000th. time and I decided to pop my head out and see what else was going on.

Isn't Anything is amazing. Although its an 80's work. And on avery island is exellent, 3 peaches is one of my favourite songs. I think jhereko says he dislikes the strokes so much because of how derivative they are, which i agree with, although i still like them. Not really a chart entry

Pixies>>>>>>>>>Arcade Fire>>>>>>>>>>>The Smiths >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The Strokes

(I don't know iof I've expressed enough how large the gaps between them are 🤣 )

Also if your best album is amazing enough it's all you need...(also both MBV's and NMH's first albums are amazing on thier own. WOuldn't you agree Hayden? 😉 )

Not a Strokes fan? 😐 Didn't know that.

And Isn't Anything is an ok album, nothing amazing, but still a nice listen.

And we all know my opinions on Avery Island 🫢

Best track on the album is *Here. The others are okay - not my favorite from Pavement. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Brighten the Corners would be tops for me.

thanks Jhereko. I actually have heard the albums. wilco is coming close to being my favourite work by them. I love both Jesus ETC and Spiders (Kidsmoke)

wow really? I guess I didn't give Wilco (The Album) as much of a chance as I maybe should have. Have you heard the newest one yet?

Hayden wrote:

you don't think that Arcade Fire & The Strokes are better than the Smiths & The Pixies?

Actually... that's probably just because of my mind set, but that would be a tough call.

It's weird that you put 90's first there though, because MBV & NMH really only had one amazing album, and each only had 2 in total.

I feel like i'm contradicting myself again

I think the Smiths were a more essential indie band than Sonic Youth, so I just posted those 2. Sonic Youth would have been a third choice though. As for the Wilco thing, fair enough, they were also an essential 00's indie band 😄 . And they did have a few 90's albums (as Jhereko posted), but apparently they aren't very good.

catchy, dull, forgettable. C

2 discs. Obviously suffers from being a little overlong (although its very short for a double album) but has lots of moments of greatness. B-

I think it's because of the unlimited options they have, but I've always preferred listening to Indie music over everything else. Just so much variety 🤤
