The Kinks were not held back by the musicians but perhaps by management and Ray's perfectionism.

A brilliant record for sure. It doesn't get as much credit as Village Green, which is difficult to understand for me, it's as good.

why question it? If people are stupid enough to by digital music, then let them... Nevermind that though, this wonderful album deserves discusion. Also i think i read somewhere on a Kinks page or thread that Ray Davies was let down by the rest of the band which pale in comparsion with his talent. Something which I agree with. Thoughts?

The Kinksmen have released fairly great singles, yet I find myself bored while listening to their studio albums.

I've been wanting to get into the Kinks for years, but their best albums aren't on iTunes, so I haven't gotten the chance. But this Christmas, I'm asking for CD copies of this album and Village Green. I can't wait!
