Anyone check out Star Wars Visions? Some of the episodes were quite good, my favorite was the one produced by the studio who made Ghost in the Shell. Some were too anime-y for my preference, and some seemed like they could've been canon Star Wars stories which also were a bit meh. A few of the episodes hit an awesome sweet spot though

Watched my first anime last fall. Here's what I've seen so far

- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Attack on Titan
- Death Note
- (Currently) Dragon Ball

Now that a few months have passed, I loved Neon Genesis and Attack on Titan. Death Note I'm kinda eh on. I'm certainly enjoying Dragon Ball, but I want another show to watch with it since there are so many episodes.

Hmu with recs.

I watched Berserk for the first times a few months ago. I mainly wanted to watch it to see how the music from Susumu Hirasawa was used. Soundtrack is great.
That show was something. And man, that 2016 version is just horrible-looking.

Its a shonen that reminds me of the late 90s as much as it feels like from the current trend of late 2010s-2020s shonen. Like an edgy love letter that is as dumb as it is fun and spooky.

It had so many great moments this season. I Love Todou and Itadori's fight against the special grade and really all of the characters have such great chemistry and setups for great development. Really high hopes for this series but almost every shonen I've ever loved drops the ball at some point

They're constantly fucking up, getting people killed, and acting on their own selfish impulses. The newest season is so fucked that both sides are essentially going to destroy each other based off their ruler's lies. Nobody looks good in this show.

This kind of stuff is utterly baffling.

I'm with you man, polygon is wack. I think the show Is insanely human and real.

Well I've never read polygon, but it's been out there since 2013 that Hajime Isayama is actually a genocide denier so....

Anyway, I just finished Kaiba which I think might be the best Yuasa creation to date. Beautiful stuff

Shinsei Kamettechan is one of the greatest Japanese bands ever and the way they've played with vocal pitch manipulation is genuinely innovative. I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I think I've already breezed through the first dozen or so episodes. Definitely one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time.

One of the greatest comedy manga/anime to exist by my measure. I haven't gotten around to checking out its successor series yet, but my friend says its quite good.

I'm in the midst of watching March Comes in Like a Lion. It's inspired me to try learning to play shogi.

Animation style is very unique as well. Constantly blends different art styles and such rapid mood shifts it can be difficult to keep up with.

But like, in a good way.

My favorites include One Punch Man, Evangelion, Death Note, recently Jojo's, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Cowboy Bebop and Ouran. I've finished Trigun and Beastars, and tried some of Soul Eater, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, and thanks to the childhood nostalgia behind Pokemon, Yugioh and Digimon, I've tried some Buddyfight which was very meh.

The best anime movies to me are Spirited Away, Perfect Blue, The End of Evangelion, Grave of the Fireflies and Akira.

I like to tailor reccomendations to people rather than making blind generic ones, so I would need to know what genre they are looking to explore and what their favorites of what they've seen are and go from there.
