Artists have long been known to me not only for successful tracks, but also for top albums.
Unfortunately, 2021 didn't level up the artists in my rankings.
The tracks rivalry required a deeper dive into the material.

Sufjan Stevens & Angelo De Augustine - Back To Oz
I was about to confess that I am not influenced by this childhood story.
But the translation of the song stopped me.
The experiences of the authors did not find my response through music.
The visibility of some frames of the video did not fill with tears.
However, the last words of the chorus pierced with familiar pain.
Comprehension of the proximity of death, it will only intensify, right?

Low - Days Like These
Unfortunately, in this case, the musical breakthrough did not happen either.
I do not remember referring to the translations of the lyrics of these performers.
I have always had enough music, now I know that the content is not inferior.
But the advantage in this confrontation was provided, of course, by a video clip.
It turned out to be a full-fledged short film of a very high level.
I don't need to know if there is a documented basis for this.
There are very few clues, everything is at the level of intuition, this is art.

Second-tier Sufjan still gets me, can't say the same for Low, easy vote for Back To Oz.

love both. honestly with an itchy finger and before relistening to these two 2021 gems I voted for my nomination - "Days Like These" - but now I am thinking its a close as close gets draw. 2 of the best tracks here remaining for me.

"Back to Oz" just has a dreamy, lovely and peaceful vibe that is utterly irresistible for me. While "Days Like These" is soooo beautiful and so relatable and it just personally cuts to the core of my heart and soul whenever I hear it. It's so loud and over-the-top yet so beautiful. Does it meander a bit? Yeah, I think so. But I love it - warts and all.

Neither are the Artists at their best, but went with Sufjan because more energy, more consistent
