^^^ I don't know what her next album is going to sound like. I only know that the name of it is God's Work and sometime during this fall is its release date.

God bless you and LeAnn always!!!

P.S. As for her last album, I wouldn't consider it to be her best either with it being so different compared to what we are used to getting from her, but I can most definitely understand when a person is ready for something different. Lately for me it has been nothing but Northern Calloway who gave us David from the Sesame Street children's TV show, a beautiful precious masterpiece of a man who we had to let go of way too early in life. Even if I am able to find everything that is out there from him, it still won't be enough for me. I love him so much. 😢 😢 😢

@JoSweetHeart While I haven't always loved all of the songs LeAnn has recorded (and especially now, Her latest is an album of New Age chants. That seems like a very strange career decision to me.), I will never forget how blown away I was when I first heard "Blue". I couldn't get over how a 13 year old girl could sing like that. It's still hard to believe she was only 13 at the time of "Blue". It still sounds just as good now as it did then. LeAnn had a voice that was way ahead of her time.

Yeah, I think the point was to concentrate purely on the vocal performances.

For the Freddie Mercury is my eternal number one, followed by Steve Perry. The rest aren't in the same class.

In terms of female singers it's Ella and Etta all the way for me. Ms Fitzgerald and Ms James.
I also love Kate Bush, Sinead O'Connor, Eddi Reader, Liz Fraser, Linda Thompson, Ann Wilson from Heart (wow!), Stevie Nicks, Sandy Denny, Janis Joplin, and the late great Whitney Houston. Alison Krauss rules too.

In terms of male singers for me you can't touch Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley (especially 'Old Shep'), Marvin Gaye, Paul McCartney, Bono, Nat King Cole, Robert Plant, Stevie Wonder, David Gilmour and Tom Chaplin from the band Keane. I also think Michael Buble has a terrific voice albeit I am not the biggest fan of his music, aside from his sublime Christmas album. Oh yeah and Freddie Mercury is great. I also like David Bowie.

@MadhattanJack Thanks for your response. I am unfamiliar with most of those people you named but I can look them up. Thanks so much for telling me you like Lauren Talley's singing! That makes me happy! I love it when other people are able to appreciate the talent of my all-time favorite! And thank you for taking the time to listen to Lauren. I ordered a personalized Spotify plaque with one of my favorite songs by The Talleys from etsy once. The woman who made it misspelled the name of The Talleys as "The Tallies". Obviously, that's the group you're talking about. I am unfamiliar with that group. I had to get in touch with her and have her make me a new one with the correct spelling "Talleys" on it. The Talleys just retired from touring last year, and Lauren is focusing on her solo career now.

Golly gosh, there are lots of 'em, but my all-time favorite is definitely Liz Fraser. After her, let's see, in no particular order there's Kate Bush, Mark "Birdy" Burgess, Victoria LeGrand, Bryan Ferry, Frank Black/Black Francis, Charlotte Hatherley, Neil Halstead & Rachel Goswell... plus there's Richard Butler, Joey Ramone, Charlotte "Sea" Oleena, Malcolm Owen (even though he was only on the one Ruts album), Tessa Murray (from Still Corners), and Harry Nilsson. Among others!

Also, I like this Lauren Talley as a singer, but now I'm concerned that people might confuse her and "The Talleys" with Tallies, a band I like a lot from Ontario, Canada, whose singer doesn't look all that dissimilar.

Because I have so many to name, I will start with my newest favorite: Northern Calloway who gave us David from the Sesame Street children's show in the 70s and 80s.....I will never have enough of him. A song that shows off his awesome singing and smile too is the first thing shown during this clip. 😄 😄 😄

God bless you always!!!

P.S. Go here for a more thorough helping of not just his singing but his awesome songwriting too. 😄 😄 😄
