yeah, complete sales stunt, it should have been one album, with perhaps a couple fillery tracks cut off to keep it concise

this is actually hard, how about Beefheart: safe as milk/decals??

or for something more accessible the Hives Veni Vidi Vicious with Mando Diao's Bring em in; 2 mostly generic swedish garage rock revival albums for one!

Oh, wow. I'd never heard of this, but I was curious so I looked it up. Is it legitimately an 11-CD album or is it a compilation of sorts?

The Piper At The Gates of Dawn/ Surrealistic Pillow?
if the two were properly mixed together (so not side A=Floyd and side B=Jeff) it would be pretty incredible.

I was gonna put different bands together then I noticed your preamble, now I understand why purple adapted, rules like that restrict threads.
