The Caribbean is part of North America geographically. Culturally it may be quite distinct, but geographically it is in North America (as is Central America). NorthERN America, on the other hand, is usually just Canada and the States (plus the territories of Bermuda, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, and Greenland).
