One of the best Pop albums of the late 60s. Some of it manages to surpass I Want to Hold Your Hand and Barbara Ann, with innovation and experimentation that approaches The Beach Boys and Beatles’ daring of 1966. Straddles the border between The Beatles Please Please Me, Anthony Braxton, Mary Poppins, Howlin Wolf, Looney Tunes, Chevy Chase, Monty Python, Jack Daniels, Emir Kusturica and Cecil Taylor’s Unit Structures.

Agree, a very challenging listen (if that's the right word) and goes well over my head (and I've tried a few times), but I love some of his other albums Safe As Milk in particular).

holy shit this is bad. i want to like it but it's shit.

i guess it's cool that they practiced this like essentially hundreds of times to get it down perfect. it's still weird as shit though.
