I think it would be awesome to see the new Shins album break into the top 100, but if Chutes Too Narrow and Oh, Inverted World can't even get into the 200's, it seems almost impossible. 😠

I agree with people that say if it happens, it will be some unexpected release from a new band or something.

Well, if they release something like Absolution again, it won't blow EVERYONE away (for example, I'd find myself rather underwhelmed by a Muse effort comparable to Absolution).

Grizzly Bear should make a good enough record to dent the Top 100, otherwise I'm hoping for a new band to kick start a (post-punk-psychedelic) rock revival

I wouldn't be surprised if Toy (recent support act for The Horrors) released a storming debut in 2012 - also looking forward to albums by Howler, Memoryhouse, Perfume Genius, and The Big Pink.

Current line-up for next year, no. I do not think an album from 2012 will break into our top 100.

Unless someone pulls some sort of crazy music-voodoo-shit that ends up sounding like In Rainbows 😜

Considering the crossroads the world will come to in 2012, I really do think something from 2012 will reach the top 100 4-5 years down the line.

I think it will be a debut album and none of the bands mentioned as well. Or maybe a breakthrough album from a lesser known artist? Hmm... maybe... I'll stick with debut album.
