Loads of the modern British 'indie' bands had shit names, the Wombats being the worst (really shit band as well!)
Although I think 'The The' has to be the worst, it's actually put me off listening to them.

Surely you're aware that it's the name of the gym teacher several band members had, as it seemed he pronounced his own name with a thick southern (U.S.A.) accent? Leonard Skinner or some such...who incidentally didn't appreciate the band mocking him in such fashion.
