I love Closer album cover. Probably my favourite to win it apart from maybe London Calling and Animals (my nomination)

I think people are just voting Joy Division because the albums are great. If the album sucked, I doubt it'd have as many votes.
In this case, I can see why, but definitely not against ITAOTS.

Country Life should never have made it this far. Closer is SO much better, and sends it to the dustbin.

The only thing Country Life makes me think of is liver disease and urine. I can't imagine how you could photograph someone more unattractively than this. If I had to use one adjective to describe the cover, it would be "sticky".
