Sun Ra is colossal. Eno is pretty good, but no where near my love for Sun Ra.

If you want to get into Sun Ra, I'd suggest Jazz in Silhouette for his early, more traditional, piano-based phase, Atlantis or The Magic City for his late '60s uber-experimental phase, and Lanquidity for his somewhat cheesier, funkier '70s stuff.

Both are among the greatest musicians of all time, incredibly prolific, and among the masters, if not the masters, of experimenting with timbre. Each has at least 10 truly great albums under their belt. I think you'd like Brian Eno more though.

I like Sun Ra, but Eno's ambient has finally started clicking with me. Combine that with his early work, and one can really see just the breadth and talent he really has. Voted Eno.
