To be honest I think the rest of punk is pretty rubbish. These three are great though (whoops i forgot the stooges I have put it up there now though)

The Sex Pistols
The Buzzcocks
The Damned
The Replacements
Husker Du
The Stooges
Nirvana (They always sounded like a punk band to me)

Although you definitely got off on the wrong foot here, I don't understand the level of vitriol and hostility you've received from people. this was a pretty stupid question because punk is a very singular genre that really only gets interesting when you bring in non-punk genres; most of the bands i just listed are in no way considered punk, yet the genre wouldn't be respected at all without them. And pop-punk is poopoo (Green Day, anyone)

You can't diss NOFX when you're throwing down "The Undertones" & " The Buzzcocks" as legit punk rock examples. Both of those bands can technically be considered pop-punk @ certain points in their careers as well. Maybe we should have a genre debate forum-
