These rankings are not based on preference. They are based on the team's results. If a team wins, it goes up on the rankings. If it looses, it goes down. I understand Greece may not be playing attractive football but it is a team that is not beaten often, which explains its position in the rankings.

Germany on top obviously. Surprised that Brazil fell to below Uruguay 🤔

Not that they really matter of course. Greece and Ukraine are ridiculously high for what they are.

I think the first half was fairly exciting, but the longer it went, the more mistakes happened in the play. Or maybe I was just missing the goals, which were lacking in most games from quarterfinals onwards...

Considering how exciting the group stages were, it's hard not to be just a little let down by the last few matches. Only Brazil - Germany was exciting, but not for the reasons I would have liked.

Despite my comments in this thread I ended up rooting for Argentina in the finals, and it's a shame they couldn't bury at least one of those massive chances they had. You have to say that Argentines neutralized the German play pretty damn well. But I'd say that Germany still deserved it overall...

Congrats to Germany for sure. A very business like performance throughout the entire event in my view.

Here's how my work bracket sussed out. I made #8 (out of about 150 or so.) I probably would have won if Suarez had just grabbed a Snickers before the Italy match.

In all seriousness that was well deserved. Argentina got very lucky even making it to the finals and while they played to their best ability in the finals, I'm glad Germany won. Gotze's face upon getting the game winning goal just made it better.

so yeah today is the big day, the world cup final, a kind of disappointed that we didn't go to the final, but that team in 2012 that lost the final of the Olympic games until today we changed a lot and improved a lot and even being humilated by Germany (that I think that will win but if Argentina does it's okay too [even that most of Brazilians don't like them]) we made a good run until here, the 4th place is more than I was expecting, of course I would like to we to be champions, but for a person that thought that Brazil would lose to Chile I'm feeling satisfied, It was a good cup, and It was great to discuss and make predictions here with you guys, we laugh, created the #tomorrowwetalk, hehe it was a good world cup, let's see how it goes in Russia (if Brazil goes there of course because I'm not too confident) But I think we will be there in 4 years, I hope I will be here for this long time just to feel this atmosphere that we lived here thank ya

Some thoughts as this world cup comes to a close.... Had Greece came 4th in any world cup would have the whole country going crazy screaming a major accomplishment...But Greece is not Brazil...Brazil though has nothing to feel bad about and will eventually re-emerge as a major soccer power...After every Winter there is a Spring... 😄

It's a hard question. Germany would probably deserve the victory more because they were more convincing during the World Cup, and they always reached the semi finals or the finals at the last big tournaments, yet the could never win anything. I usually always cheer for South American teams, so this is the case with Argentina, too even if they are my least favourite South American team.
They weren't as convincing as I thought they will be. But here is the big chance for Messi to win the Cup. This is the only chance for him and I know he and the team will do everything to win. It would be great if a South American team would win the tournament (even if this team are the biggest rivals of Brazil).

So my brain says Germany, my heart says Argentina.
