i agree that the 50 "worst" artists probably comprise the joint efforts of many obscure tone-deaf simpletons, so attempting such a compilation would be pointless.

however, here are a list of artists that are - in my humble opinion - flatterd by their prevelance on lists appearing on this site:

The point of such lists - just as "the best of" charts - is to cause a discussion, and nobody would discuss a list of 50 no-names. Unlike this one, which already provoked a number of posts on this very forum.

And the method is to indicate a number of well-known artists who do not deserve to be where they are.

Personally I don't want to label any artist the worst. It is just a waste of time and unkind. I would rather label and discuss the best artists. Let the worst artists remain anonymous and unheard.

The only thing this magazine did right was completely slander "We Built This City" a song that is truley awful.

Even as a kid i new this song was an awful piece of shit that shouldnt be heard by anyone.

Wow, I'm only through the first 20 and I'm already thinking of cancelling my wife's subscription to Blender for her.

Toad the Wet Sprocket? Live? Spin Doctors? Arrested Development? Crash Test Dummies? Blind Melon? Every two or three entries I'm going "are you kidding?" These bands aren't even bad, much less the 50 worst.

I'd agree with some of their picks, but hardly any. And if Sweet isn't number one, then this list should be voted one of the worst lists ever made.

In worst artists of all time list without Limp Bizkit is a big time fail in my opinion.
I would argue with at least 10 of those selections as not just bad selections but being extremely stupid. Makes me wonder how much music some of those morons who compiled the list actually listen to.
I couldn't disagree more with the inclusions of Boingo, Primus, The Doors, not to mention Whitesnake who while pretty bad are nowhere near the worst of the late 80's hair band horror. Blind Melon is fine for what they were.

There is a lot of truth in it, but I would definitely replace The Doors, Skinny Puppy and Primus with U2, Coldplay and post-Richey Manic Street Preachers.

And just because they mention Mike and the Mechanic shouldn't make them forget Phil Collins himself.

No, this list is awful. It mostly has mediocre artists overplayed on the radio, probably the first ones that came to his mind. Honestly? The Doors? Mick Jagger? Arrested Development, one of the best rap groups ever?

(Though, I agree about ICP.)

I have a soft spot for korn. I know their music is shit, but I dont like it when people bag them out. I think I see them as a retarded kid .. someone who should be left alone. the last four efforts from them are unforgiveable and as an old fan I find it almost impossible to find a redeemable quality about them.
Limp Bizkit have had no redeemable efforts in their career. I cant say that their is one song i find at least bearable, P.O.D are probably worse but have had less impact a similar point made about the disney bands, they're shit but they were kind of over before they even started. all my opinion of course

Can't believe The Doors or Primus are up there, but especially Blind Melon: just because everyone born outside of the 90s doesn't remember every single music video they made or has listened to there full albums doesn't make them bad by any means. They had as many singles as bands people on this site may enjoy from today: Arcade Fire, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc. Sure, there not as satisfying as most acts, but it's great music that's easy for everyone to listen to and you get something out of it. get off blind melon's nuts

Yeah, this list has been around for a while. The only ones I can really vehemently disagree with are Arrested Development, Japan and Skinny Puppy. Everything else I either agree with completely or at least understand why they're there.

The Doors are not one of my favorite bands, but they certainly don't belong on a list like that. It may be pretentious but I think I'd rather listen to The Crystal Ship than Nickelback, Creed, Three Doors Down.....

I do love Rick Wakeman and Skinny Puppy, but I won't try to defend that
