I'd never even heard of Popol Vuh before joining BEA, but I became pretty intrigued since then since I've noticed how many BEAers listen to them. It's definitely pleasant enough with some beautiful guitar. Perfect music to read & chill out to, but nothing that captures my attention. I understand from the above posts that this is not even close to their best outing so I'm still looking forward to checking out their other stuff.

Veedon Fleece has been a revelation and is now my favourite Van Morrison album. As Skinny mentions, unlike Astral Weeks, I could listen to VF pretty much anytime. It has a lot of the creativity & artistry of Astral Weeks, but maintains an every day accessibility & homespun, down-to-earth-ness which Astral Weeks lacks.

This is a tough one for me because I love Popol Vuh although Einsjäger & Siebenjäger is not one of their strongest efforts. On the other hand it is been quite a while since I've heard Veedon Fleece so a re-listen is in order... Will be back with the vote soon...

I love Einsjager, but Popol Vuh has made 3 or 4 better albums. Havent heard Veedon Fleece, and the door is open for it to win me over, but Van Morrison's music has never really touched me the way it has for others. Will listen to it tonight i think.

They're both two of the best albums ever made, but I have to be in the right mood for Astral Weeks, whereas I can put on Veedon Fleece at any time and be instantly transported.

Veedon Fleece is my favourite Morrison album, and probably my favourite album left in this tournament. I love Popol Vuh, but easy vote to Van here.

The Popul Vuh is the ancient history of the Pre-Columbian kingdom of the K'iche' Mayans. It's a story that goes all the way back to the creation of the world by the Quetzal Serpant Q'ukumatz, and tells the genealogy of the mayan kings of K'iche'. Personally, I think this is much more interesting than anything I could say about the band.
