SSB64: Pikachu.
As a little kid I made it my sworn duty in life to play as everything cute. My sister mained Kirby so that left pikachu 😜
SSBM: Roy
As a kid I mained Pikachu for the aformentioned reason. A bit later in life, I got really hooked on Roy. He was cute had the right speed imo (even though he was more on the slow side) and his strength/reach was great.
SSBB: Kirby (Marth?)
I've only recently started playing Brawl since the boyf has it. I didn't realize how kickass it was because of all the negative reviews I heard about it. Kirby really clicked with me and while I found Marth unplayable in melee, I dig him in Brawl.
SSB4: ???
I don't really know who I'll end up maining. I'm definitely going to play around with everyone but out of the newcomers, likely Robin. Not only because I really like FE but because his set looks very diverse. It might be a bit too complicated for me.

Oh shit it's my jam.

Smash Bros. 64 was actually the first video game I ever played, using Link at all times. I've loved the series ever since. Never owned a console until the Gamecube, though, so I didn't get to spend much time with 64. Melee was a ton of good fun with my 3 brothers (perfect setup, right?) for years and years. Back then I mostly played Link and Pikachu but didn't really know what I was doing.

Melee: Ganondorf

Just about a couple years ago I started playing again with my friends. A certain Falco kept pushing my shit in which was a little frustrating, but I eventually learned the ropes of reading the opponent and mindgames and whatnot. Messed around a lot with Falco, Shiek, and Marth, but never found much success. Then I discovered Ganondorf. Once I learned how to L-cancel, waveland, and do my SHFFLs, I felt like a beast with Ganon. Now I can't touch anybody else in Melee, none of them hit hard enough for me.

Brawl: Zero Suit Samus

Rarely play Brawl these days, but whenever I did I always used ZSS. Her whip gave me a lot of range, which I abused the shit out of at all times. God I love that whip.

Project M: Link, Ivysaur, Ganon, ZSS, Ike

What's that? A mod that combines the content and characters of Brawl with the gameplay speed and physics of Melee? And Link is good?!?! I love Project M, it makes all of my favorite characters viable. Now I can use Link and Ike in a competitive environment without being laughed out of town.

Smash 4 Predictions: Wii Fit Trainer, Palutena, Robyn, Greninja

I'm excited. I know it won't be the same as Melee, but I enjoyed Brawl and god dammit I'll enjoy Smash 4. On the go, too. I'm mainly excited to see how WFT controls, as nothing would bring me greater joy than mopping up the online leaderboards with such a controversial character; The butthurt would fuel me for centuries. Palutena and Robyn also look fun and are probably going to be better fighters than WFT.

Yeah, I just found out about this too, no PAL version of it though which sucks, I just started using my Wii again and everything. 🙁

SSB is by far my favorite multi-player game series, I've played countless hours on that shit.

I tand to play with pretty much everyone, on all three games (though there are excpetions, like Roy/Peach on Melee and Fox/Snake on Brawl), and I'm not sure I have fixed favorites on N64 and Wii (don't play enough for that), but on GC, Sheik is my go-to character for "serious" games. Too bad they nerfed her in Brawl but oh well.

Can't wait for the new one!

Also, I didn't know about that Project M thing, it looks pretty amazing. I may try it when I get my Wii back 🤔

Pac looks sick. Little Mac too but I think I play too much of an aerial game to get good at him. Greninja on the other hand definitely looks my style. I really hope they squeeze more Punch Out!! into the game, there's plenty of options they can draw from for Assist Trophies.

Speaking of, what are your house rules, items-wise/etc.? For Brawl I usually do 3 stock, items low (no smoke ball, unira, spring, sandbag, or poison mushroom), and turns for stage choice (for random select I turn off customs, Mushroomy Kingdom, 75m, Mario Bros., Rainbow Cruise, Halberd, Rumble Falls, and New Pork City). Depending on the company auto handicap might be on, but there is always an agreement to play by gentlemen's rules: you can't land the final KO of the game with a Final Smash.

Fox
Dr. Mario
Jigglypuff
Marth
Sheik

On the rare occasion that I play Project M I pretty much just stick with Marth.

One of my favourite video game series. I fell in love with it the first time I played the original Smash at a friend's house like 15 years ago. I'm super excited for SSB4 cuz to me the series has just gotten better with each iteration. I play as all the characters really. I'll even give the ones I suck at (e.g. Ice Climbers, Olimar, Peach) a spin occasionally just for kicks. I'm pretty good so I guess that helps. But I'll tell you the ones I always pull out when shit gets serious.

64: When I was first starting out I remember really liking Yoshi, which is funny because nowadays I consider Yoshi one of my worst. I also dug Luigi, but as soon as I heard my friends talking about how Ness sucked and was too hard to use and realised that I actually could use Ness, he became my favourite. These days when it comes to SSB64, I think I'm probably equally as good with Captain Falcon.

Melee: I haven't really gone back to Melee since Brawl. I'm one of the ilk that don't like the speed of Melee so much, although even if it weren't for that I'd prefer Brawl for a multitude of other reasons. I used to main Game & Watch with some Mewtwo on the side. If I went back today I think I might be a Dr. Mario guy.

Brawl: I'm not sure how it happened, but somewhere along the line I ended up really good at Zelda. Yes, Zelda is my best. Recently with SSB4 hype I've gone back and had my eyes opened to the goodness of Wolf, who's now my 2nd. I'm also good at R.O.B.

SSB4: I'm probably gonna end up maining Shulk. Xenoblade is my favourite game of all time and from the moment SSB4 was announced the one thing I hoped for was Shulk to be in it. I thought it was just a wild dream, maybe a 1% chance, but somehow the dream is real and I couldn't be more pumped for this game.

For melee when i was playing a local tournaments I used luigi and ice climbers

for brawl I play sonic and Olimar but i really haven't really logged many hours on brawl

dont think ill be getting the newest SSB though, i dont have a Wii u or a 3ds and i really was not planning on springing for them

im honestly not sure what game I play (its the gamecube one??) but I used to always play as Pikachu or captain falcon but got tired of them last time I played. Used Fox for the first time ever and was very bad but kept going until I got used to him. as you can probably tell I only play when im at someones house that has it and when its a drinking game so im not by any means good.

i mainly play Project M nowadays and never really developed a good character for Melee. in Brawl and Project M, I've mained Mr. Game and Watch (early days of Brawl), Dedede (maybe like 2010 or 2011ish), took a hiatus, and now when I play (probably once every couple weeks since last summer with varying groups of people) I main Marth but sometimes will play around with Wario, since his air game is awesome in the G&W way without the poor rolling and punishing options on the ground (plus i much prefer even his non-motorcycle Project M recovery to Marth's irritating Up+B with its shitty F directional input that causes all dem suicides).
