It's been a pretty intense week and it's only going to get crazier, so thanks anyway for anyone who had a look at this, appreciate it, again sorry about the lack of in-depth-ness, someday I'll do a better one of these.

Been listening to 'The Essential Byrds' all morning, really great listen, just got in the mood for The Byrds after getting 'Turn Turn Turn' stuck in my head.

Those charts are going to take a good while to get through, once I get a bit more free time hopefully I can speed it up a bit, I'm happy enough with the current way I'm working it though, I've got bits and pieces of charts done here and there, there's 14 in total, but the only I have up at moment is western Europe.

Yeah, I tend to lean towards punk-ish sounding stuff a lot of the time, though I find it hard to pick a favourite genre, folk is probably high up on the list also, though I pretty much find stuff I enjoy from tons of different genres, it's so difficult to pick actually...

I've spent the entire day looking at fossils, completely wrecked, need the weekend in so badly...

Anyway, great to see you enjoyed 'Among The Leaves' Pa! 😄

I enjoy the majority of Jimi's stuff, that comp included, though I just feel that Electric Ladyland is by far his strongest at the moment.

So it's been a hectic day, but I've now got the time to gather my thoughts and relax with an album that makes me just collapse into a bubble of joy everytime I hear it.

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
This album is just magical, pure bliss. I had a weird beginning with it, it just didn't click. I wrote it off, put it back on the shelf and gathered dust there for the better part of year. I have no idea what was wrong with me at the time and I don't think I want to know, I was clearly crazy. About a year or so later I was coming from a festival, got a bus home on the Sunday night and was mildly drunk, that hazy phase between near soberness and pure off your head. As I wandered home I got this craving for tea, no idea why, but I just had to have some. So anyway, I made it home in the early hours of the morning, finally time for tea much ti my delight. I put the kettle on and searched for something to listen, it was then that Belle & Seb popped back in my mind. What's the harm in giving this another shot I figured. There and then things finally fell into place. I fell in love with the music of Belle and Sebastian and never looked back since.

This is easily my favourite Hendrix album, 'Crosstown Traffic' is totally my jam!

Hopefully gonna get at those punk recs in the next day or 2 if things are less busy.

Great to hear you enjoyed it! My number one album for this year so far!

I can't recommend 'Among The Leaves' enough, as you may have seen from the earlier post, though 'Admiral Fell Promises' is also incredible! Well worth a listen!

I've been in lectures all morning and I'm still in for another while, I did listen to 'Street Fighting Man' by The Rolling Stones while I went down to get lunch, made me feel cool, but that's been the extent of my listening since this morning.

I guess it was an unusual album to get into Dylan via, but I'm so grateful I did discover him like that, I wouldn't have it any other way! Desire is one of 3 Dylan albums currently on my overall chart (The other 2 being Blonde On Blonde and Highway 61 Revisited), I have a lot of affection for The Times They Are A-Changin', probably in my top 5 Dylan albums at the moment, though that's an ever changing list. North Country Blues gets me everytime.

Anyway, I'm sitting outside waiting for my section of uni to open at 9, currently listening to the new Belle & Seb single, it's a different approach from them, but they still manage to excite me, no matter what they do.

The whole thing you said about discovering Dylan and how tht influenced you musically was music to my ears. I essentially had the same experience with Dylan when I was 12 or 13 only difference was it was the song "Ballad Of Hollis Brown" and the album The Times They Are A-Changin'.

Anyway, glad you're a Dylan brother and again really loving this ULL so far!

In Towers & Clouds by The Immediate
Pretty cool album, the band only had one release and was pretty much a precursor to Villagers for those of you that are familiar with them, this is pretty different, interesting stuff!
