                          Oddly I don't think I've ever read any Trouser Press. Maybe I just assumed it was a zine about pants. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I like that the reviews are straight to the point rather than the excessive books written by many current critics.</description>

                          Just realized that I've never hyped &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold&quot;&gt;The Trouser Press &lt;/span&gt;and can't recall ever seeing any mention of it here on BEA.&lt;br /&gt;

The other Ira of indie rock!  Ira A. Robbins is arguably just as influential as the Ira of Yo La Tengo fame on the history of indie rock , and there's no question if there was a hall of fame of indie rock, he'd be a first ballot hall of famer. His fanzine turned encyclopedia The Trouser Press was THE bible for underground rock in the 80s. Succinct &amp; witty reviews with impeccable taste. These two books were essential bathroom reading in my busy professional student life throughout the late 80s/90s... &lt;br /&gt;
