Seems like people are much likelier to vote in deadlocked matches because then their decision seems to count much more. The previous round 1993 was in (with my year) had 40 votes, and that was a 20-20 tie.

Haha! Me too. Two of the best teams in the entire tourney so far for me! I think I might have gone 1993, but I was vacillating pretty hard since I truly dig all ten albums and most of the singles. I think I went with '93 since I'd happy having all five of those albums in my overall.

Great matchup. Couldn't get into Opeth, so I have to give the nod to 1993, but it was tough voting against Summerteeth and Keep It Like a Secret.

It's not like 1999 is exactly clobbering 1993, either. Far as my eyes can tell it's been neck-to-neck outside of the occasional +2 lead I get.

Im a bit surprised too, though looking at both teams it really just comes down to your personal favorites. Given that 93 album team may be the best one Ive seen all tournament, when Gentlemen is the weak link that's saying something cuz that album is still very, very good. The singles team is not as consistiently great but still quite tasty, Animal Nitrate aside. And while the 99 team does little for me beyond Things Fall Apart, either with well-regarded bands/albums that I just never got behind or good albums from bands that made better ones, it is a very well-crafted team that appeals to a lot of different musical tastes & moods and nothing too controversial to turn anybody off, so it's not surprising it's doing well also. Both teams are very strong, I guess it just depends where your tastes lie which one is better.
