Ooh quite a good one this is. I actually really love that 65 team, A Love Supreme and Hoodoo Man Blues are great choices, absolutely thrilled by the inclusion of Jackson Frank, one of the most underrated master songwriters to leave before his prime, and alel gets a big Saoirse-smooch for the inclusion of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Haven't heard that temptations record though. Singles team is equally divine, The Sounds of Silence is the only weak-link in comparision but it's actually a pretty decent song nonetheless.

With the 67 team, I think what a lot of these albums suffer from is that they have been so talked about, so constantly pontificated upon and have for so long always been heralded as the greatest albums ever... that there's a bit of a been there, done-that feeling with a lot of those selections. It's just hard to make these teams feel exciting and personal when it feels a lot like going through the literary classics we we're required to read for class. Again though not questioning if a lot of love went into these teams, every team has (even those by Applerill). That all being said, the 67 albums are quite beautiful, Forever Changes, Piper and Velvet&Nico are all stunning and have been favorites at one point or another, while The Doors and Sgt Pepper's do less for me personally they are still quite revelatory albums. The singles team is quite a bit weaker, though, with the exception of Respect.

Think 65 edges this out, but will listen to the Temptations record before voting.

67 has a lot of overrated canon rock stuff, while 65 has a lot of stuff I like, especially Jackson C. Frank and Junior Wells (in addition to Coltrane)

I'm far from the world's biggest Sgt. Pepper's fan, but it's still very good, and everything else on that 1967 team is amazing. Three of those albums have graced my Top 100 before, and could all quite easily be there now, whilst Piper is one of the few Floyd records that I actually love. Everything on that 1965 team is dope too, but I only consider A Love Supreme to be on the same level as 4/5 of the 1967 albums. Then again, Nick's only put forward three singles, and they're a very mixed bag (and there's nothing quite as great as 'In the Midnight Hour' either). Leaning heavily towards 1967, but I'll relisten to a few of those 1965 records before I decide. Pretty difficult to see myself voting against any team that contains Forever Changes and The VU & Nico, but it's a close call.

Also, just to add my two cents, I don't really consider using a single from an album on the same team that the album's on as being anywhere near as bad as using them on separate teams - it doesn't really earn you any advantage as you aren't recycling material in an attempt to win two matches. Still don't think it should be allowed, but it seems more misguided than unsportsmanlike to me.

It was an easy choice for me...Nick's albums include many of my favourite records ever, so I voted 1967. 1965 is also great, though.

This was a super easy choice for me. Nick's team is stacked, don't get me wrong, but most of the stuff on there I don't love. And in some cases I'm perplexed by what makes them so iconic. "Forever Changes" is a major exception - I adore that record. As is, actually, VU&Nico because it's amazing in my eyes as well. But Floyd's debut, Doors' debut, and Sgt Peppers are all either just okay to quite good but I've been waaaay too desensitized to it's greatness after years of "This is the greatest thing ever!" from the likes of my dad. And rolling stone. The '67 singles are pretty nice, mind you.

But damn, easy vote to '65! Alel murdered it! So sexy, soulful, spiritual, lots of great black and white music that I adore! And also the single greatest album in this match is from 65 in the form of Coltrane.

Also the singles are masterful!

Yeah, '67 easy. Every single album on'67is nothing short of an absolute classic whereas that Jackson C Frank album is decent, but not revelatory & falls a bit short of classic status imo.

Love alel's absolutely inspired picks though (especially Hoodoo Man Blues- I just love that album) and can see why he's bringing home the vote. 😁

I'm not going to penalize Nick for using that Doors single, but rather I'm just going to ignore it and consider the team to just have EDIT: 3 singles.

But shit Nick, you brought out the big guns 🤣

I'm having difficulty voting on this one... which is surprising 🤔 I love all the albums that both teams presented, and most of the singles. While the '67 team is a powerhouse, the '65 team has some personal favourites of mine.

Not sure.
