Really two of the most acclaimed concept albums. I love The Who, but I find it challenging to listen to Quadrophenia in its entirety, Tommy was much better IMO. The Wall is not only one of the most famous concept albums ever, it is also one of the best.

Yes I agree. On performance level Q tops it easily except for guitar solos of course.
What I was refering as "high points" are songs that come to mind to the general public at first tought (like TW has In the flesh, Confortably, Mother, Run like hell, Another brick...) and Q doesn't have really much standout songs (maybe I should have used the word "hit") like Tommy or Who's Next have. Kind of the same that happens with Exile on main St. The total is far bigger than the separate parts.

Quadrophenia is one of those few albums that everytime I finish it I say out loud "that's it, this is the best ever done!".
It's like The Wall has stronger peaks but greatest lows; and Q on the other hand is a solid marble from start to finish on all aspects (songwriting, production, performance, coherence, etc)

At least that's how I see it (and I've would chosed TW if I was asked this same question 20 years ago tho, so maybe age has something to do with it also).

The Wall definitely has the lowest lows, but I think Quad has the highest highs as well. For me, there simply aren't any higher highs than The Real Me, 5:15,and Love Reign O'er Me.

Quad by a long shot, for a whole lot of reasons. Chief among them in this case: Floyd doesn't have Entwistle!
This is a contentious question, isn't it? Both albums are crazy ambitious. "The Wall" got way popular for doing so while "Quadrophenia" has always remained a cult classic. Perhaps that's why Quadrophenia so wins out for me.

The Wall is perfectly balanced lyrically throughout. It's the only concept album I've found where if you skip just one song you miss an important development of the story or theme.

I voted for the Lamb, but the Wall would be my second choice. Quadrophenia is good too.

All three have major flaws that are canon to double album releases. All three would've been better as 8-12 track albums that sit around 40-45 minutes.

The Wall is a far better album than Quesitonphobic. Has Comfortably Numb for a start which is way better than all The Who have done. Those who don't like The Wall have obviously never had an ego or an ego at all.

Quadrophenia is a very good album, but not as good as The Wall. Whenever it comes to The Wall or The Final Cut, I always feel like the only one at the defense of those albums (cause I love them both) but I could also be crazy.

Quadrophenia is musically better; I prefer The Wall. Although both are arguably the last good/great album from each band, neither has the replay value that most of the earlier albums do. Honestly, due to a handful of wicked acid trips (are we allowed to talk about that here?) I've probably watched the film version of The Wall a couple times in the last year. Haven't listened to either album all the way through in years. I'd say The Wall is the 6th, maybe 7th best Pink Floyd album. I'd put Quadrophenia as The Who's 4th best.

The wall and I have history, and I don't look back on it fondly. Back when Roger Waters went on that tour, I couldn't get away from the wall. My uncle wouldn't stop preaching it's masterful construction and declaring Waters' lyricism and "message" as something akin to Dylan meets Jesus. I practically had to learn to love the thing out of necessity. He even dragged me a performance of to the aforementioned tour. It was a technically visually impressive experience, and while it works marginally better as a multimedia thing than an album, I still had a lot of trouble even sitting through the first disc, especially when he dove into truly Bono-esque theatrics. If anything this kind of early omnipresent exposure only made me resent the thing that much more in retrospect. I don't even necessarily hate it, but I've come to find it unrelentingly annoying. Over time I've just cared less and less about anything Waters.

Quadrophenia is decent enough. I'd take The Who Sell Out and Live at Leeds any day though. Still, it gets my vote
