Oh crap, there's also The Ascension - Glenn Branca. I might choose that over Loveless.

Sonic Youth's best albums, especially Daydream Nation, would be high on a list as well

Loveless - My Bloody Valentine

Though, Are You Experienced or Electric Ladyland are perhaps the greatest examples of variety and exploration of techniques used to produce/invigorate a new style.

John Fahey's Fare Forward Voyagers is perhaps the best example of composition, and concepts/emotions/states evoked throughout its compositions.

As for me, well Rocky stole some my shit. But is take "Blow by Blow" by Jeff Beck SLIGHTLY over "Wired", I'd take "Land of The Midnight Sun" by Dimeola slightly over "Elegant Gypsy". But really you can not go wrong with all 4. Also YES on that s/t Roy Buchanan. He's a mad man. Awesome.

Also....

Oh, I know early Fleetwood Mac has a high reputation but I have yet to give it a listen, that's all.
