I hadn't heard that Metric track, and at first I was like wtf? But then the intro finished and I was like "oh this makes sense", definitely had that sort of sound that would work really well outdoors.

But I still have to vote for Ja Wenle. I may be biased because I nominated it, but I've been obsessed with it. I uploaded it to youtube so that I could show it to as many people as possible. A lot of high life stuff feels summery, but this song just feels so full of activity that puts it as the number 1 summer jam for me. You have the whole call and response thing first with Azumah's vocals and then some dudes, and then dudes get replaced by horn blasts and wah guitar, and all the while in the left channel you have this really intricate guitar that's sorta matching Azumah's vocals and then in the right channel there's another guitar doing a sort of counterpoint thing and they're dancing around each other and everything is just moving moving moving but keeping within a consistent sort of existence, that's my hyper idealized version of summer summed up.
