To layer the echo I also have no clue what I voted for (if I voted in this category at all), but it's nice to see this up and running again and I have some re-discovering to do.

Relistening, I just had a newfound appreciation for Monument and Violence. They hit me harder than last time for some reason. I would have been happy with any of these winning really. Last year was ace for electronica.

I also can't remember who I voted for, but it was most likely Never Catch Me. I hope they do another collaboration in the future.

Can't remember which I voted for, but it was most likely 'Never Catch Me'. So that's good. Excellent choice, one of the obvious standouts from a very good FlyLo album, and a precursor of the direction Kendrick would take on his next album, which turned out to be a masterpiece.

"Never Catch Me" by Flying Lotus feat. Kendrick Lamar

Thumbnail. Click to enlarge.

"Rapid drum fills and lackadaisical piano lines spiral maniacally against one another like an anxiety attack. Lamar’s flow emulates the frantic vibes, spitting brutal lines like “Buffalo soldiers at war, you shot fast but that ain’t the final score.” The MC and producer both reach some of their meanest moments on the track, building off of each other’s tenacity like two blazing infernos." - Consequence of Sound
