Really quite difficult to do this, because a lot of rappers and hip-hop artists have generally struggled to keep any real level of consistency throughout a career. I'd again just recommend checking out my hip-hop chart for a better representation of my taste, but I gave this a good go regardless.

Not at all. He'd almost certainly be in my top 20, and Me Against the World and The Don Killuminati are among my very favourite hip-hop albums. But, overall, there are less Tupac albums I love than there are albums by all the artists in my top 10. It's the same reason Biggie just missed out as well. I was trying to think of artists who have at least three or four albums that are excellent, and Tupac didn't quite make it on that basis, due to his wild inconsistency that Cuba mentioned earlier in the thread (which is a sort-of microcosm of the wild inconsistency that pervades a lot of hip-hop, as I've just mentioned above). No doubt that Tupac was one of the very best when he could streamline his music and be concise and focused, though.

Tupac, even though his first couple of albums sucked ass, the daniel day lewis of rap

dr dre, the west coast rza, but not nearly as versatile

madlib, rza's cousin that was almost as close as a brother

I'm the exact same with Kanye West, I enjoy some of his songs but I've never found myself enjoying a full album of his all the way through.

I can't make a list, but I'm on the Kendrick bandwagon. Never thought I'd put such a new artist in the "all time great" conversation but he deserves all the praise he gets.

Everyone else has pretty much named all my favorites aside from Outkast and Public Enemy. Tupac would make my top 10 for sure.

I'll admit I probably only even like 20-25 artists tops, but I'm more interested in the genre now than ever before, so I'll be using this thread and Skinny's chart for a few days.
