Patience...time is the only true decider as to if an album reaches and maintains the hallowed 'great' status. These things can't be forced. Over the years I've heard many new albums that seemed really important and great at the time only to look back 10 years down the line once the dust had settled and think yeah really good album but not 'the greatest album of all time' as I thought back in the day.

What I guess I'm trying to say is that it doesn't really matter if this album does reach the top 100 this year or next, it's true importance or greatness won't be known until much further down the line.

Lol at Pitchfork and TheNeedrop. There is so much hype on this album. I would listen to it, but I'm not in a hip hop mood at the moment.

I prefer Good Kid, MAAD City mostly because I have a personal attachment towards the album and I've been listening to it longer. I sometimes get crap for adding personal reasons when rating music, but I don't care, bruh. That's just how I listen to it. To Pimp A Butterfly did leave a better initial impression on me than Good Kid, MAAD City when it came out, though.

I think it will hit the Top 100 in 2017.

Nah, it's lower than MBDTF and Illmatic, which I didn't realise until I checked just now.

I was actually still under the impression Illmatic was outside the top 100, so I'm proud of you BEA.

As for TPAB, I'd be very surprised if it managed it in just five years, the top 100 is too thickly maintained by rock fans for other genres to progress upwards. It happens though, just much slower. So yeah, ultimately, if it gains itself 'classic' status among all music fans, it could very well end up there.

And for my two cents, I prefer GKMC.

I'd like to hope that it will reach the top 100. It would be the next step into bringing this community into a more open-minded one in terms of understanding hip hop, since there's only two of them present in the top 100. If it does take the route that both Kanye and AnCo have taken, then the glory of being in the top 100 wouldn't be immediate. Though, on the off chance that the album does get accepted into the top 100 because users recognise its social relevance, then what's stopping similar albums like Black Messiah from cracking into the top 1000, let alone 100?
