Well, used to mess around with Smash a bit, though I currently focus on speedrunning (ran a game at this past Summer Games Done Quick with 90,000 people watching me live on Twitch. That was a tad nerve wracking). But, I played the local Smash scene and own every variation. I mained Fox in N64, Dr. Mario in Melee with Marth as my backup, Mario in Project M, Captain Olimer and Diddy Kong in Brawl and Rosalina in 4. Sometimes I'll play Bowser in 4 though (that F air is just too nice).
So... yep. Also, Kings of Smash is indeed a great documentary. I think I like Project M the most, even if it's just a fan work. It feels the most fluid and balanced to me.

I play Smash 64 and Brawl. I've only played the Wii-U one once. Used to love Melee but not so much anymore. But if anybody lives in SoCal and down to play, lmk. (I only have Brawl at the moment.)

I haven't found the time to see that Smash Bros documentary, but surely it can't be worth 4+ hours? Unless it's split into episodes or something. That's almost as long as The Sorrow and the Pity.

My friends and I have a bit of a Melee cult. Unfortunately, there really aren't any good players in Tulsa (my roommate and I are probably the best in the city, tbh), but we try to make it out to tournaments in OKC as much as we can.

For those who play competitively, who are your mains? I'm a Peach main with a Falco secondary, though I'm seriously considering picking up Fox or Marth just for the Jigglypuff matchup because fuck that shit.

But yeah, Brawl and Tr4sh suck, lol

I used to play Melee really well when I was 12 and 13 (shortly before 'Brawl' came around). I'm still fairly good, but I used to be better. I'm came in second to a local city tournament of around 80 entrants 😜 Lost to a bloody Captain Falcon player somehow....

I used to play as Marth, but two or three years ago I switched to Falco as my main. Sheik as a 3rd choice.

I'm lucky so many people I know play it. It's really the only video game I've ever truly enjoyed playing. Never really got used to the feel of Brawl... I much prefer Melee.

If I ever do get into the competitive scene, I'll be using Marth. If Brawl ever comes back from the dead, I'll be fighting for my friends. And if I ever get that 3ds...I have no idea who I'll use. Link maybe? I'll be rooting on the side-lines if the day ever comes where your in a tournament.

I find Smash 4's competitive scene the most interesting at the moment, because it's still young and developing, but also because so many more characters are viable it creates countlessly interesting match-ups and possibilities.

Alas, I've had to part ways with my Wii-U since going back to Uni, but I've still got the 3DS version, if anyone wants to play me - I'd be totally down.

A new game [link=http://store.steampowered.com/app/383980/]Rivals of Aether[/link] has also brought the genre to the PC, and I suggest checking it out, it simplifies and encourages Melee's more complex tech's, like Wavedashing.

I've been thinking about getting into it, my friends and siblings say I would do great though. Until then, I'll be watching Hax and Mew2king and stuffs. Great documentary! Also, I'm saving up for a brand spanking new 3ds so I'll Pm you when that day comes.

I have copies of Melee and Brawl currently, never upgraded to Wii U though (nor do I intend to) so haven't played the latest one. Put some serious hours into both down the years and I'm big fan of the original too (might try dig out a copy for my N64 as I don't have many games for it anymore). Melee probably hangs somewhere in my top 15-25 games of all time currently.
