You probably should. It's my favorite album here (and very close to being my favorite album of last year), even if it's maybe not "metal".

Heathen is a great choice though, definitely deserving and likely the best album to win best metal category in BEAMA history, which seems to always feature duds.

Heathen was a record that I appreciated more than I actually enjoyed, unlike respective releases from Idylls and Nux Vomica that were nominated (the latter being my choice of these five), both of which were fantastic. I found the Agalloch record kinda bland, even if it did what it set out to very competently, and I haven't listened to the last nomination. But yeah, not a bad choice, even if it wouldn't have been mine. (Disappointed that neither Bong's Stoner Rock nor Conan's Blood Eagle got to this stage.)

I want to do it, but as you can imagine it's a lot of work. And last year we had trouble getting enough users to fill out the polls, and I can't imagine it would be any easier this time around.

Really great album. Wouldn't have been my choice, but I can't necessarily argue with it. I'm just happy Nux Vomica was even nominated.
