I tent to find lots to like in all genres with a few exceptions
At the bottom, it's a three way tie between country, rap, and reggae, all for the same reason. All very simple minded, repetitive, with little or nothing in the way of musicianship. There are exceptions, but they are few and far between.

It's number 10 on your chart, so I just assumed.

I'm just saying if you can love an album enough to put it at 10th best on your overall chart but don't enjoy the rest of the genre that maybe you haven't been exposed to the right parts of the genre.

It's not my 10th favorite album, but I do enjoy it a lot. It's the only pop punk album that I enjoy though, so it's still my worst genre because I hate most of it.

I still don't get this thread really, for a long time I've felt every genre has something to offer in some way or another if you dive into it deep enough into it. Sure, everyone will tend to stick in relatively close proximity to what they know and love, I do too, but at the same time I'd hate to limit myself and will inevitably want different styles of music at one stage or another.

I occasionally go to an alt-rock bar with a certain group of friends who are into that shit. The patrons are mostly 18-22 year olds and you can hear it in the music. It's just dire stuff, metal, hardcore, so-called punk (the 90s Green Day bastardisation), I can barely tell when one track ends and another begins, it all just blends into a couple of hours of crashing guitars and drums and angry young men shouting indiscernible lyrics. It just oozes teen angst, I'm 21 and I can't help but sit there and think "aren't we all a little old for this?"

Anyway, I actually don't have any real problem with outlaw country particularly. I just find so many people (especially my brother) use it as an objective barometer of "realness" that modern country is supposed to stand up to for some reason. It's almost like the non-Urban Outfitters version of "I hate modern country but Johnny Cash is pretty good", or maybe just the non-channer version of "I should've stayed home and listened to Swans" (which I once said to a girlfriend's face; not a good idea, take it from me).

Just a few songs I throughly enjoy, these only slightly reflect the beauty of an incredibly vast genre that has links beyond Ireland with other Celtic regions, and when done well is one of the most spectacular types of music out there that can send shivers down your spine.
