My unyielding thanks to everyone who made suggestions. And hell, if I've got to be honest I'll admit that the yu-gi-oh banter was pretty entertaining too, even though it maybe trolling. Ah yes Twerps, Cocteau Twins and the Go-Betweens I should have also listed too, I love Range Anxiety (I placed it at #7 from the albums I had listened to in 2015, "I Don't Mind" is stellar!) and I am from Brisbane so the Go-Betweens should have come first. However for those I'm not aware of - which is most of the others - I'll all definitely listen to in the coming weeks. Thank you! 🤣

I remember that whe didn't listen to Postcard bands or to the Pale Fountains as "jangle" way back in the 80s. They were aiming at something beyond a nice sound, maybe it was the influence of Soul music, but I would still use a term like "Guitar Pop". Well, that said, I don't want to doubt that there can be passion and change in jangling too.

I may think of a current band: Fear of Men in this context.

If I ever listened to something that always felt like a dream then it were the This Mortal Coil Records and the "Fruit of the Original Sin" complilation on Les Disques du Crépuscule.

The Paisley Punk Bands had their own This Mortal Coil with the "Rainy Day" album, which also jangles a little.

Range Anxiety by The Twerps

when it comes to all of these categories, there's a hell of a lot to choose from.

The obvious are Go-Betweens (masters of the jangle) and Cocteau Twins (iconic dreamers) but you likely already knows these names.

I'm gonna mention the Raveonettes for their shameless mastery of Jesus & Mary Chain's noisy Phil Spector sound.

Months ago I created a forum requesting recommendations on "Lo-Fi" albums and what came of it was nothing short of phenomenal, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every LP & EP that came way! But I think what I meant back then was something more alike to what I am asking for now (not to discourage the other forum but maybe now I conceive that it would have been better to swap them around). Anyway I know I'm constantly publishing these things and maybe I expect way too much but if anyone could please assist me that would be exceptional! Artist I do like of these genres are: The Feelies, Yo La Tengo, The Clean, The Chills, The Softies, The Field Mice, Real Estate, Beach House & Alvvays. If anybody could contribute into expanding this palette, it would be extremely appreciated 😨 !
