There are many albums that are considered classics by critical consensus and more serious music listeners, but aren't necessarily well known by the general populous (for instance, Astral Weeks, Velvet Underground and Nico, Forever Changes...). Do you mean those, or are you referring to "classic rock" that have ruled the airwaves (such as Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd...) ? Or both?

If you wanna get quite adventurous with music before the 90s, I would recommend The Residents. It may not be what you're looking for however The Residents are quite a listening experience.
If you do decide to start listening to them I would recommend listening to The Commercial Album first as it is the easiest to digest. Not Available is the best album I've heard from them so far but it took a while to get into for me. Other classics by them in my opinion would be Third Reich 'n Roll and Duck Stab/Buster & Glen. I would be throwing you in the deep end here as It's not much like anything on your chart. But it's good to keep an open mind.

Honestly your music taste is diverse enough that it might be worthy it to you to just listen to the top 10 albums of each decade. Some of it might take a while to set in... maybe even dedicate yourself to a single decade so you are comparing contemporaries.

Punk rock in general can be a very rewarding genre, as can post-punk.

Finally the Neil Young mention:

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young And Crazy Horse

His slightly punk-y album which supposedly influenced Nirvana and the Grunge movement.

If you have always thought of the Rolling Stones as classic rock, that's not surprising, but check out Exile on Main Street. Instead of blues, Exile is rock that comes from roots/Americana. In other words, The Stones are doing much what The Band did. This is one of the most addictive albums ever made, but it can seem like a "meh" the first 10 times you hear it. My son (big time Radiohead fan) got to love this album because he heard it so many times in my car. For a preview, check out the track "Let It Loose".

Some people will never dig the Stones, but Exile is special.
