I feel like I'm voting for the obvious choice with To Pimp A Butterfly, but it really is the best rap album of the decade and one of the best albums of all time. To me it is an instant classic.

No, definitely, we will be doing writeups for albums (possibly songs???) as long as people are interested and aren't lazy and actually do one for their assigned album this time.

Feel like I'm the only one who's gonna vote for Father John 😕 .

It's basically a folk "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". In that it's a perfect dichotomy of the man himself; his outer personality (the sex-obsessed, disillusioned, "hipster asshole") vs his inner intentions (a compulsion to love and be loved by his wife against convoluted notions of romance in a post-internet society).

Carrie & Lowell, Courtney Barnett, The Epic, Depression Cherry and To Pimp a Butterfly all come close though.

at the time, i'd have probably voted one of vulnicura /art angels / carrie & lowell, but then i found myself not listening to those as much as the days gone grown groan old. i listen to ten love songs all the time.

So yeah hi there ho there Im going to try and put on a BEAMA's presentation this year since it was 🙁 we didn't get to one last year, and it will likely be much more low key than year's past but hopefully be able to get the votes/presentation up and running this time before labor day ( 😜 love ya Jher and Lovey). This thread though is just really to put out awareness of the actual show, since not everybody ventures down into the games (where the nomination thread will be posted).

The one inquiry I may have is to find a volunteer(s) to help with the show, preferably those who are tech-savvy since it would be nice to set up an actual voting system rather than just doing it by pms.

Anyways hope y'all participate 😨 , and Ill see you down in the games where we can start chit-chatting about the actual categories and how the dang thing will be put on.
