This was a tight match before I voted for Sabbath (now its 15-9).. I think I'm bringing bad luck 😲 .. Next time I'll vote for an artist I don't want to win '

He he. You were aware from the start that they are corny, so that makes it alright. That rule is an extension of Kinky Friedman's famous "If you know you're an asshole you're not an asshole".

NO MORE VOTES

Sonic Youth always give more than 100% and Black Sabbath were always going to raise Heaven and Hell so as we saw it was a fairly even match most of the way. But there was never really a Shadow Of A Doubt who would make it through as we hold an Electric Funeral for the fallen.

SONIC YOUTH ARE THROUGH TO THE QUARTER-FINALS.

Okay you held up your part of the bargain. So we're agreed Kamelot will replace Iron Maiden as one of the 24 finalists?

Are you saying they aren't already in the top 24??!

unbelievable right? I mean they have ghosts they have operas, what the hell more do people want?

Ghosts alone should have got them in. I mean they are GHOSTS!

the right answer : Sonic Youth.

why ?

because it's one of the very rare (veeeeeeeery rare) bands that managed to keep creating very good music over 3 decades.

I thought about this some more about longevity and I think it's about equal. Maybe just a slight advantage goes to Sonic Youth. But certainly not enough of a reason for one to vote for them over the mighty Black Sabbath.

Sonic Youth started making albums what, about 26 years ago. O.K. Black Sabbath made a great album (although it flew under the radar at the time for some reason) 23 years after they made their first album.

It was called Dehumanizer (1992) and once again it was Ronnie James DIO that rejuvenated Sabbath and showed them to be as good as they were 23 years earlier 😁
