I say this cause sometimes I'll listen to a record for the first time and it has interesting elements, but I'm not emotionally invested. After a few listens though, sometimes that changes and I begin to like an album that I didn't like before. Sometimes these growers are the best ones.<br /> <br /> Also something to note is to help identify why you listen to music. Some people listen to music for only emotional reasons (lyrics don't matter, it's the feel), some for only intellectual reasons (only lyrics/ideas/fashion/music theory, etc. matters... emotional experience is less important). For me I find something in between - something that tickles my brain, but also emotionally captivates me.
