I think a new thread could be good - I'd like to get more people involved. Maybe vote in here for this week though, just so it's not confusing. Then I'll start a new thread for the next one.

Sorry it's been a bit slow, guys. It's been a busy last couple of weeks. Hopefully, things'll move a bit quicker now though.

So with Rankly looking like it's bitten the dust are we gonna vote in here? Or is it worth starting a new thread (that way others not submitting songs can vote too, and might be encouraged to join in with next week's poll)? Drawback is we'd all only get one vote each, and we'd have to trust each other not to vote for our own picks. Otherwise we just vote in here.

Mine will likely be a bit obvious, but I seriously can't think of much beyond the accepted beard canon here. I went as left field as I could.

I'm pretty sure Tim Smith has a beard. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. Anyway, this style of folk always had a beardy feel to me, so there you go. It's a great track to boot.

Beards galore here. Firstly Blackbeard himself, AKA Dennis Bovell. Then jazz(z) in general, which has as high a beard:clean shaven ratio as any other genre I can think of. And as for the beats - sharper than Wilkinson Razor sword, as Daddy G might say. You can almost hear the hairs fall into the echo chamber

Everyone in Wales had a beard in the 70s. This ode to nasal theft was penned by a team of Comedians Cymraeg, who were like a version of shitty English 'funny men' The Grumbleweeds except funny. One of them had a beard too. And as we all know, often nasal hairs join with beard hair to good effect. Tenuous links abound, but don't let that take you away from one of the greatest hip-hop samples (the opening drum beat) that's never been used in hip-hop (apart from perhaps by MC Mabon, Tystion or one of the other Welsh populous). As soon as I can, I'll get the next one started. I've been busy starting uni, so I haven't got much time. As for themes, Tap suggested some pretty offbeat ones that might be fun to try (e.g. You can hear the beard - songs where you can tell the singer has a beard just by listening to them)

well, i sucked last round. I had just seen Hatt/Glass in a little basement show the night before and thus it was the first thing to come to mind. I do enjoy that song and their whole album from last year. But I probably wouldn't have nominated it any other moment than thatmoment when i hurriedly had to choose something before my boss noticed. Oh well.

I'm glad you liked Future Blues, DBZ! It's a fave of mine.
