Westerns would actually be pretty cool. Hadn't thought of that one before. Definitely a lot easier to define than romance... that was a bit vague. I'd be way more down for westerns than sci-fi (queue Westworld pun of some sort). We'll see what people have interest in.

Doing a 100-film list for a specific movement would be way too hard & narrow a list to do and likely either result in a lot of mediocre selections/not being able to reach a top 100 or only certain users (ie natives of the country) being privvy to many of the hard-to-find hidden works of quality. Now doing a top 100 french or czech (or perhaps central/eastern-europe) list would def work just fine.

Gowi, I love this idea. But lately it seems BEA can't create much discussion about music...and it's a music site. So other than you and me, I'm gonna have to say 'good luck.'

As someone who watches all sorts of films and absolutely loves French new wave, there's no way I could come up with a decent list for that, much less Czech. I'd love to watch y'all do it though.

Yes, westerns would be badass.

Regarding actors, coming up with 100 names should be easy. It's the order that would be crazy tough to decide.

TV is another one I personally wouldn't participate in but it still deserves to be done. I think I've only seen 4 TV series in their entirety: Weeds, Dexter, Tales from the Crypt and the original Twilight Zone (I'm not sure if the two anthology series would even count).

Another idea for the next list after an All Time list, is Top 50 (don't know if we can get to 100) ideas for later BEA movie lists. We can each submit our list, up to 50 can be listed, then Hayden you can use your usual method to set up the top 50 list of potential lists. Personally really interested to see it all come together. Not a clear number 1 that I can think of.

Now that I think about it your probably right, I was probably just having a tough time thinking of all the actors I like, yeah that would probably work

I'm down for all-time or 2016 next. I would also like to see TV sometime but not sure how large the interest is and while there are some surely obvious shared inclusions like Breaking Bad (since Hayden mentioned Bryan Cranston) I'm not sure how much carryover there would be between lists overall.

Actors and Actresses would be cool but yeah potentially difficult to judge. My top 7 or so is based on performance alone, but after that there are instances in my list where the actor's offscreen persona kind of blends in with onscreen performances as to where it potentially clouds judgment if we truly tried to do a "Best" and not favorites.

Maybe for you 🤣 That'd be hell for me. We had a sort of tournament for this not too long ago anyway. I think that was the best way to do it.

Actors & Actresses could be an okay idea, but I wouldn't even know where to start on making a list... especially if we're considering more than just their work in film. Bryan Cranston, who I don't think has ever had a stand-out film role, would without a doubt be extremely high on my list for Breaking Bad and All The Way. Mark Rylance would also be extremely high up there for his theatre roles alone.

Overall 100 will be next. Might end up doing 2016 at the same time though, just as a side thing (top 50, just like the 2015 poll).

It's funny because scifi wasn't really my area of expertise for the most part (the genre is tough as there are aliens, robots/androids, giant insects, surrealism, super heroes, science experiments, post apocalyptic future, etc) but my horror love has greatly enhanced my knowledge and love for scifi as well. I'd actually really enjoy that one. I'm sure we can fit it in at some point. It's bound to be the most popular remaining option a few lists down the line.

So is the new overall next? My top 100 is gonna be weirder than ever.

Or are we doing 2016? I'm getting there but still waiting for some to come out in stores.
