I like to see the ranking of the members more by the fact of the statistics (how many albums classified, charts ...) and can then compare my "performance" in a general way.
Regarding my position in the ranking, it would only be interesting if the division of the points becomes more fair! If I write "yes" or "no" in a post I get two points, but if I listen to an album 10 times and give it the ranking I think is fair, I earn half a point! Does not make sense.

Same here, I could care less. I'm more interested in quality content, discussion, recommendations, than the "number" of posts, ratings etc, I (or anyone else) have produced.

I only ever use it to compare my position to the top ranked artists page for fun. Atm I am at numero 234 so that makes me Broken Social Scene. Now, I would probably say hey that's cool but I have yet to even listen to You Forgot It in People. Other than that I got no need for it. I also lost all interest in member points when I reached level 7 cause I need them custom charts. Long gone are the days of finding some obscure album with a massive track list to boost my mod points.

I'm not nearly as active on this site as I once was but I check my ranking once in a while to make sure I'm still in the top 100. Anyone else care about their overall member ranking or anything else weirdly nerdy like that?
