That is very true. Can't believe I forgot about that, especially considering I typed out his discography for the Best Ever Rapper tournament about two hours ago. I also own said album on CD. It's distinctly average.

No. I wouldn't class Paul McCartney's debut album as the first Beatles' record, so why should I do so with rappers?
Yup completely agree. And also to say all the albums after IV are just decent albums with great singles is a joke. Houses Of The Holy is amazing, as is Physical Graffiti. Probably a total of 2 or 3 songs combined on those two albums I don't love.

Also, Thank You is the only song on II I would remotely consider filler, and even that song is really good I think. II is probably the greatest guitar riff album of all time.

All in all, I can see how someone can make an argument for any one of their first 6 albums being their best. They are all that good.

Boston is the most glaring example. Everything after the debut was garbage, and the debut was one of the greatest albums ever.
Pearl Jam with Ten.
Pixies with Surfer Rosa.
Taking Back Sunday with Tell All Your Friends.
Guns N Roses with Appetite for Destruction.
Arcade Fire with Funeral.
Foster the People with Torches. Granted, it's their only one thus far, but I've got a gut feeling their next one will be inferior.
