Some = G#
Times = E
I = C#
Wish = F

Good ear you have there. The song's in E major, and the 'wish' is the only neutralized note in the entire song. Remainder of the f's are sharp.

So, essentially, it is a different key.

Each time I hear the song Sometimes It Snows In April by Prince, I’m wondering what is this strange, interesting note in the chorus on the word "wish" ("sometimes I wish life was never ending").
In an ordinary songwriting, I believe this note would have been the same as on the words « snows » « sometimes it snows in april ») or feel (« sometimes I feel so bad »). But it’s not, it’s like it’s falling, it sounds almost off-key but it’s probably not.

What is it ? If a musician can tell me... I think it really brings something original to the song.
Thanks
Ps : the original song is not available on youtube
