I have a friend who practice death growling The Beatles songs (death pop-rock/pop-rockcore, as he call it), and it sounds pretty horrible.

I forgot to mention I really dislike all the genres being created with the "core" at the end. I mean I'm okay with hardcore, but it's getting a little ridiculous with grindcore, mathcore, deathcore, metalcore, etc. They kind of all sound the same. Next there will be jazzcore or avant-gardecore.

Deathcore and metalcore sound similar but otherwise the genres you named sound nothing alike. And John Zorn's Naked City was not only one of the first grindcore bands but could even arguably be called jazzcore 😜

Mathcore is kinda... awesome. And mathematical. Go more time signatures or go home, as I always say, 'tis the prog way.

Oh, and the worst possible fusion genre is... whatever BOTDF happens to be.

FUCKING SCENE KIDS, DIE

Sounds like Aqua singing over Throbbing Gristle with a few featured Muppets chiming in.

I'm kind of like CellarDoor too, I see a 70/100 as an average rating in my books. I think of it as a C in school and then anything at a 50 or below is a pure F. I've rarely rated anything below a 30/100.

But you're right, logically a 50/100 is average, but in a school grading system a 70/100 is average.

Just a question: Why do you reserve HALF the available scale for different levels of seriously bad?

EDIT: Scratch that question. I just realized I do too.
