I'm not "blaming" anyone.

I said "for better or worse"

I remember the same thing happened in the 70's with disco. But that only stayed huge for just a few years and quickly faded.

I can remember liking some disco music and there were people who hated me for it. Then I got into new wave music and again there was a certain % of friends that were appalled at me for listening to new wave.

Which I still do today 😁

These 2 are good 😁

In the second one I like the use of stand up bass and the sound of the snare. If they are programmed, I have been fooled 🤣

I do make music without actual instruments now. It's a lot less time consuming and less expensive. I've recently downloaded more guitars (Stratocasters & Telecasters ) and some bass guitars and more amps and effects and the gap has for sure closed a great deal between "real" and programmed guitar.

no it's not that I don't understand it, it's that your point is nonsensical for more than one reason. 40footwolf explained a big part of it in that the 2 disciplines have completely different rules and techniques. Also you say that if the Prog lineup made a rap instrumental it would be a weak one but if the hip hop lineup tried to make a weak prog instrumental it wouldn't be a very god one, well besides the fact that weak by definition means not very good I just don't see any straight up logic to that. Anyway I think we are all somehow agreeing on most points.

Oh and @mooseboy Eminem has done some fine work, there's nothing wrong with him.
