Completely agree.

I've liked Trip-Hop for years, so it is nice to have a discussion(?) about it every now and again. I think I still listen to Morcheeba the most.

That is correct. But records like Big Calm and Homogenic as well as records that were influenced in trip-hop like Music Has the Right to Children, Moon Safari and Entroducing I just find more impressive.

I demoed records in the Trip Hop genre. And I feel like the second wave of this genre was way more captivating compared to the inception. Prefer records in the second half of the 90's compared to the first half.
