I love these kind of questions. I know they're kind of like trivia but I wish more people would post topics like this. Simply because I think they're are a lot of fun. And that's why I post so many of them. I just enjoy them tremendously.

It's My Life. The Animals
What is Life. George Harrison
It's My Life. Talk Talk
Living in the Life. The Isley Brothers
I Love The Night Life. The Cars
Lush Life. Donna Summer
Run for Your Life The Beatles
Life during wartime. Talking Heads
Life is Killing Me. Type O Negative
You Light Up My Life. Carole King

And also I like many of your choices but didn't want to repeat them in my list too so I'll just say they're runner-ups, because I love them also

Life begins at the Hop. XTC
Life is a Minestrone 10cc
Life on Mars David Bowie
That's Life. Aretha Franklin or Frank Sinatra

And my choice for desert island word:
Train (because one time I made a list of train songs and I was surprised by how many of my favorite songs had train in the title)

What are the best Life songs?

In another thread I said that Life Still Goes On by BTO would be in my Top 10. That was a bit rash. Actually last time I compiled a list of my favorite songs it was only on #15.
But instead of updating this list I thought that there are quite a number of songs with "Life" in the title. Here are my Top 10.

1. Life’s been Good To Me – Joe Walsh
2. Day In The Life – Beatles
3. Life Still Goes On (I’m lonely) – Bachman, Turner, Overdrive
4. Life On Mars? – David Bowie
5. Still Life – Van der Graaf Generator
6. What is Life? – George Harrison
7. Someone Saved My Life Tonight – Elton John
8. Reflections Of My Life – Marmalade
9. That’s Life – Frank Sinatra
10. Life In A Day – Simple Minds

And even the follow ups make a pretty impressive list: Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life (Monty Python), Love of my Life (Queen or better: Norma Waterson), In My Life (Beatles), Life Is A Minestrone (10cc), Life in the Fast Lane (Eagles), Lust For Life (Iggy Pop), My Secret Life (Patrik Fitzgerald), You Are The Sunshine Of By Life (Stevie Wonder), I Wanna Love My Life Away (Gene Pitney), Life Begins At The Hop (XTC)

So the question is what are you best Life songs? And the meta question: Can you come up with a word (a real one) that pops up in better songs? Imagine going to the island with only 10 songs allowed that have to contain one word.
